Thank You Comedian Lord

In life I'm always inspired and am always looking to inspire by the joys, the hurts, in death, in sadness, and celebrating the  success of others.  But today I was inspired by the death of someone who left a legacy in my heart.

You never know how ppl will come into your life or for what reason... As cliche as it may be there are seasons for everyone.

Today this Blog is dedicated to Comedian Lord. While I cannot call him a close friend I most certainly will say a dear friend or in the words of GL Douglas an "Intentional Friend" We didn't speak everyday or see each other often, but the times we did I walked away filled with fuel I needed from conversations. I can only imagine that he was this way with everyone he came in contact with. Just his words that encouraged me to want to be a better artist, a better singer, a better Daria. He gave me the never give up speech and your so gifted, talented and beautiful,  the world needs to hear you speech. Not because he was my friend but because he was a total stranger that believed in me. Sure I hear these things all the time from family friends those in my circle.... But it is something igniting when it comes from someone who sees you from the outside. That is who Lord was and forever will be.

I met Lord a few years ago through the ever so funny and talented GL Douglas, one of his closest friends. As she shared some memories at the funeral service all I could do was reflect on who Lord was to everyone... Watching the out pour of people flooding into the church showing love and to say their final goodbye I could only reflect on what a phenomenal man he was to everyone. The lives he touched with just one word, a simple hello, a text, call, or just him popping up at a show for someone else out of pure love and support. What I got from him is that he wanted everyone to succeed, he wanted to see everyone make it. He wanted everyone to believe in themselves and make their dreams come true.

This brings me back to being that "Intentional Friend". It made me reflect on how intentional Lord was. How caring and passionate he was for others. I could only come to one conclusion.... He was purposed on this earth to teach us all!!! To teach us all to be more intentional, to teach us all that in this busy world, through all this hustle and bustle, through all the grinding, as we climb the ladder to the top, that we must LIVE!!! That we must be intentional while LIVING!  Let us all take the pieces of Comedian Lord that he left with us. He dropped a jewel to each and everyone of us. Everyone has their own personal story with him. Cherish it! Let it be the fuel to push you to the next level in your life or in your career.  In that service I asked myself what will my obituary say? Will it say that my purpose was filled....did I fulfill all I was supposed to, I can only hope. We all should hope that we have learned to be as intentional as Lord!!!!

Even in his death he still inspires.... I left a funeral service completely lifted and inspired. Awakened!!! Simply because of who he was.

Let us continue to pray for his family, friends and one another. Let his Legacy live on in your heart!!!!

Peace

Comedian Lord, may you Rest In Peace and Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!

Welcome to Sweet 16 "2016"

When chatting with a group of friends wishing each other a prosperous and heathy new year, a friend said Happy New Year "it's Sweet 16". I let that sink in for a bit... And we'll it sure is SWEET. I can taste the treats that are coming my way. It's so close I can smell it. I mean think about it, really think. When we hear "Sweet 16" we think birthday celebration and "Sweet 16" is just that, a celebration... It's the "coming of age", a transition period into the next part of our lives. In our early years we yearn anxiously to turn 16. The big party, music, friends, gowns, make-up, shoes (for us girls all things "girlie"). In my case I just wanted a Regular party music, food, fun, and friends, the Tom Boy in me. But for some they celebrate with a movie and dinner. However it went down we wanted to celebrate such a huge milestone in your adolescent/teenage years. Turning 16 was such a BIG DEAL and still is. (Go down memory lane for a bit and think of all your excitement).

Now come with me to 2016, whatever age you are, no matter where you are in your life.  Inhale and smell how sweet it is!! Feel that same excitement as you once did. Remember your dreams, now follow them.  Awaken what's inside of you!!! Remember when you believed you could, well you still can... While it is still early make a decision that your new year will be the sweetest it has ever been.

BE ENCOURAGED!!! BE GREAT! And EXPECT GREAT THINGS!!!

Dance like no one is watching and Sing like no one is listening!!!

Signed and Sealed with love,
